The Parking Spot Has Perfected Airport Parking

Spread the love

Ahead of the long 3-day weekend, it’s safe to assume many folks out there have some travel plans. While destinations such as Orlando, New York, Aruba, and the Dominican Republic might be dreamy, there’s one big hurdle that sits between us and those getaways: commuting to the dreaded airport. It’s always a hassle in deciding how to get to the airport: should I bring my own car and use long-term parking where I can potentially get ripped off, or should I overpay for a surged price car service, where, especially before a 3-day weekend, they are guaranteed to increase prices because they know more people will be traveling. As a New Yorker with a vehicle, this is always an annoying conundrum, but lucky for me, this problem has been swiftly solved with The Parking Spot.

What Is The Parking Spot?

The Parking Spot is off-site parking for airports around the USA. It is easily recognizable from its signature yellow and black spotted logo (which is adorable, by the way), and allows travelers to park their vehicle hassle-free for as long as they need while they travel. While travelers can indeed risk showing up and hoping for a parking spot, it is wisest to reserve in advance. By reserving a Parking Spot in advanced, travelers are guaranteed the best rates, have the option to cancel up to an hour ahead of their arrival, and from my experience, they won’t risk the lot being completely full (which, yep, when I went to The Parking Spot in Orlando, it was full! So, it’s always safest to reserve in advance).

Where Is It?

With locations at 22 different airports around the USA, including in Newark International Airport (where I will be flying out of later this week), Orlando MCO, and even Buffalo-Niagara, where I frequently fly to visit my sister in Rochester, the Parking Spot is a convenient way to dodge those greedy corporate rideshare companies and ensure fair pricing no matter what time of year or time of day you need to travel.

How Much Does The Parking Spot Cost?

The Parking Spot’s rates vary from location to location. In cities such as Orlando, there are options for as low as $14/day to reserve an uncovered parking spot. In cities such as Newark and Los Angeles, rates are as low as $29/day. For comparison, parking at Newark International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country, has an average rate of $44/day. That’s an average of $15 lower than what most folks would pay if they choose to not go with The Parking Spot.

Why Choose The Parking Spot?

It’s true that there are many parking options when it comes to airports, or some travelers might just opt for a rideshare. Rideshares are insanely expensive when going to airports, because they can surge charge whatever it is they feel like. When riders for rideshares enter an airport as their destination, companies know they are desperate and will pay just about anything to get there. I have personally paid over $100 for a taxi to Newark International Airport in the past for a 3-day weekend trip. That is more money than my entire time would have cost had I just driven and gone with The Parking Spot.

On top of that, if you live in a major city like me, it’s always a hassle to determine where your car should stay when you travel if you choose to not drive to the airport. I always say a prayer and finger-cross that I won’t come home to a parking ticket.

Not only is The Parking Spot a better deal money-wise, but they offer consistent shuttles that will bring you directly to the airport, so you can literally just park your car, and be transported on one of their super cute yellow and black polka-dot shuttles from car door to airport door.

The Spot Club Loyalty Program

If you travel often, joining a parking loyalty service can help save costs over time. The Parking Spot offers a membership program called The Spot Club. It’s free to join, and members get the best deals, avoid booking fees, have access to a simple way to book, and are able to efficiently enter/exit facilities using just their phone. I have personally already joined, and was able to make my reservation easily at The Parking Spot at Newark International Airport for when I head out to Texas next week!

Download the app here to make your experience smoother.

So, what do you think? Will you still pay ridiculous prices in taxis, or, from now on, will you be driving to the airport and utilizing affordable airport parking with The Parking Spot?
