Face your Fears: Swim with the Sharks!

Like a true 90's middle-class American family, we had a mini van growing up. We liked to take road trips, so my parents stepped it up a notch and purchased a mini van with a DVD player in it. Every family in America (preferably from the Northeast) should at one point torture their kids by…

Sorrento: My time with the Rosalia Famiglia

Deciding where to stay in the Amalfi Coast is something I hear a lot of people questioning. There are perks to each spot: Positano- picturesque views of the typical Amalfi Coast, beaches, and along every step there will be good food and wine (and limoncello). Ravello- the top point of the Amalfi Coast, leading to stunning views. Amalfi-…

Three days in Cartagena

Based on a cheap ticket I found, I used Colombia as a hub to get into Peru (why not explore an extra country along the way?). Since I am, for the most part, a budget traveller, I knew in Peru I wanted to stay in hostels, but in Cartagena I found a GREAT deal on…

Machu Picchu

An obvious site to see if you are going to Peru is Machu Picchu. I decided to end my trip with this UNESCO world heritage site as I thought it would be a nice way to wrap everything up. However, if I could go back, I think I would’ve done just the opposite. I had finished…

Rainbow Mountain / Women’s March Peru

Peru had been at the top of my bucket list for quite some time, so when I had finally arrived I was a little overwhelmed. I am VERY unhappy with America’s current political state, however, when I booked my trip to Peru I didn’t realize I would be there during inauguration time (I also hoped…

Cancun: Are all-inclusives worth it?

I bartend in New York City to make a living, and sometimes when it’s a slow night, well, you’re forced to talk to your coworkers. I was talking to my coworker Jane, who has the wanderlust gene like I do. We were talking about how we’ve both been to Europe and Asia but never really…

Guide to a Weekend in Aruba

Beach please Luckily for you, if you live in the States, the Caribbean is a short (and often cheap) flight away. A good friend and I sporadically found a cheap flight and with little hesitation, booked our trip to Aruba. Divi tree Here were the top highlights of our three days in Aruba: 1. Kukoo Kunuku We landed in Aruba,…

One day in Singapore

I had a twenty-two hour layover in Singapore on my way from Bali to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I am always excited for a long layover in a new place. It gets my feet wet enough to get a feel for the city without having to fully commit to it if I don’t necessarily like it. I…

Food Poisoning: Why are you doing this?

My first “big” solo trip was to Thailand in June 2016. I had a day layover in Dubai, and then was off to Bangkok. Despite the long travel, I arrived in Bangkok ready to take on the city. I headed to where I was staying, dropped off my things, and off I went. I had…

Blue Hair Don’t Care (7 Things to do in San Juan)

One of my best friends needed a last minute date for a wedding in Puerto Rico. She knew she could count on me as being spontaneous enough to drop everything and go. A week before the wedding, I decided to dye my hair blue. I was unaware, however, that calling this wedding classy was a giant…
